When James Levin Neighbors was born on April 1, 1881, in Hardin, Tennessee, his father, Henry, was 24 and his mother, Sarah, was 20. He married Iva Mae Faughn on April 30, 1906, in Chandler, Oklahoma. They had 13 children in 24 years. He died on December 28, 1958, in Sparks, Oklahoma, at the age of 77.
